The wait is on...

Well it's finally the school holidays and that is certainly great for me. Becca on the other hand keeps having lots of contractions, with pain, about an hour apart. They'll go for a fair chunk of the day, then stop overnight (or as far as we know they've stopped). They are not strong enough to wake her up. Our guess is that it's just irritable uterus on the go again (like with Xavier). We are hoping that maybe this is pre-labour, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Well we're into the lead up to Josiah's birthday and Mother's Day - both on the same day this year (I guess that means I'll be exceptionally busy on a birthday, which is normally Becca's domain). Still not sure what we're gonna be doing.

We've currently got nothing planned for the holidays. It's been miserable weather the last couple of days but it looks like it's finally clearing up so that will make plans a little easier. Of course these contractions slow things down a bit, and the fact Becca is so incredibly pregnant is slowing her down, and therefore limits what we can choose to do. Never mind - it's not long now!

I'm gonna sit back and enjoy my break before the hard slog of the second term. Just a little marking to do during the holidays!

Have a great break (if you've got one too)!

The latest on the breech baby

I saw my midwife yesterday... she was certain Jackson was still breech. He's definitely making himself comfortable down in the pelvis, and she was concerned he might have had a leg caught underneath himself as she could only feel one for certain.

I went to my ultrasound appointment today prepared to hear that he was breech, and trying to keep a positive outlook on the increasing probabilitiy of a caesarian. The technician checked with me about where his back usually was, squirted on the gel, put the handpiece (yeah, extremely technical term) onto my belly and said "Head down, nicely settled into the pelvis so we won't get many face shots. Lets take some measurements."

That's right, he's turned! Thank you everyone for your prayers during this time. I have no idea when he flipped although I suspect it was a few days ago. Now I can get on with planning natural waterbirth #4 instead of elective caesarian #1.

Oh, Jackson's around 3kg (7lb). And that other leg my midwife couldn't feel yesterday was tucked up under my ribcage.
