We've set a date!

We move the weekend of August 10/11/12! We're very excited, and are busy de-cluttering in preparation to pack. Kiya filled 2 (yes two!!) rubbish sacks with soft toys, and there's another one of clothes from everyone to go as well. The op-shop is going to love us when Becca drops everything off!

In the mean time, we've been discovering just how hard it is to organise to view places to let when you currently live 4 hours drive away. Becca and the boys went down to Wellington Friday last week for a couple of days to look for a house, but unfortunately nothing suitable was found. Most agents list their rental properties on TradeMe these days, so we're keeping a close eye on there. Becca and Xavier (and probably Josiah) will more than likely head down again soon but in the mean time a wonderful friend of Becca's has offered to look at places on our behalf on her day off. Thanks Nikki, we really appreciate it!

Back from holiday

It's the school holidays, so we went to visit our families for the first week. Nat's Mum had a surprise 60th birthday party we wanted to be at, so we headed north after school finished and stayed with Becca's family for a couple of days, before staying with Nat's family for a few days more. The surprise party went well, and we all enjoyed our holiday in the Bay of Plenty. Unfortunately, we had to cut our time there short as Nat got a dentist appointment at short notice (to finish a root canal started just before Christmas).

Now that we are back home, we're trying to get motivated enough to sort out the house and start packing. Yes, you read right - packing. Nat has a new job, teaching at a school in Wellington, so we'll be moving soon. We don't know exactly when yet, as Nat's period of notice at his current school takes him a few weeks into Term 3 but his new job is supposed to begin at the start of Term 3. Nat's new principal is very understanding of the situation, and the school is probably going to organise a short-term reliever until he can get there. If possible, we are hopeful that Nat's current principal will release Nat from his contract early. In the mean time, we are busy checking out real estate sites and TradeMe looking for a place to rent. Kiya is excited about moving, although nervous about going to a new school. Josiah prattles about Wellington but really doesn't have a clue what's going on, and Xavier's too busy saying "Dad-dad-dad-dad!" to pay much attention to anything else.

Watch this space!
